Weeping

At the tail end of 2025, Weeping rolled through Houston, TX. We linked up and set up a shoot before their show at Black Magic Social Club. I had met and photographed Theo earlier in the year with Vomit Forth, so I was stoked to reconnect and shoot one of his other bands. It was also my first time at this venue, and we ended up finding a rad spot just outside that fit the vibe for the shoot. Thanks again to Weeping for having me out! Be sure to check them out and catch them on their next tour!

The Almighty Norma Jean

I’ve been a fan of Norma Jean since Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child dropped, so I was stoked when I got the chance to link up and shoot with them ahead of their show at The Secret Group in Houston, TX.

Covering their set was a blast. The venue couldn’t have suited them better, and the crowd matched Norma Jean’s intensity from the first note to the final moments of Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste. I’m already looking forward to the next chance to shoot one of their shows.

Fleshwater & Friends in Houston, TX

Fleshwater brought their In Search of Endless Sky record release tour to Houston, joined by Chat Pile and Balmora. The Houston stop, like much of the tour, was completely sold out at White Oak Music Hall. Fleshwater’s blend of heavy alt rock and dreamy shoegaze tones filled the room, hitting just as hard live as it does on the record.

Oklahoma’s Chat Pile delivered one of their signature chaotic, noise-drenched sets that had the crowd completely hyped, while Balmora kicked off the night with an intense performance that set the tone. From start to finish, the lineup made for a sick night.

Your Spirit Dies - Houston, TX

I first came across Your Spirit Dies when their latest album, My Gnawing Pains Will Never Rest, dropped. From the first spin, I was hooked. The record hits that perfect blend of raw emotion and crushing heaviness that makes you stop and pay attention. Right then, they shot straight onto my list of bands I wanted to photograph.

So when the tour with The Callous Daoboys was announced, I jumped on the chance to make it happen. We linked up before their Houston show, knocked out some shots, and then they tore it up on stage. Their energy live perfectly matches the chaos and catharsis of their record, tight, intense, and completely locked in.

Shooting with YSD was a blast, and their performance reminded me why I love doing this in the first place.

If you haven’t spun My Gnawing Pains Will Never Rest yet, seriously stop what you’re doing and go listen.

Calva Louise - Headlining the US

Calva Louise are in the middle of their first US headlining tour, bringing their latest album Edge of the Abyss to life across the country. I was lucky enough to link up with them during their Houston stop for both a photoshoot and live coverage.

Before the show, we carved out some time to shoot promos. After digging into their style and the visuals behind their music videos, I knew I wanted to lean hard into darker, ethereal vibes. Finding the right spot near venues can be tricky, but I struck gold this time finding a vacant lot with a gnarly, dead tree that looked like it belong on horror film. The second I saw it, I knew this shoot was going to be sick. Huge shoutout to Calva Louise for braving the Texas heat and relentless mosquitoes to make it happen.

One of my favorite parts of shooting music is meeting incredible people, and Calva Louise are exactly that. Hanging out before the show was a reminder to slow down and be present, which is something I didn’t realize I needed until that moment. Their kindness and energy really stuck with me.

Then came the show itself—an absolute blast to photograph and even more fun to experience. The new album is packed with infectious tracks, and I keep catching myself humming riffs and hooks days later. If you haven’t spun Edge of the Abyss yet, do yourself a favor and dive in.

Big thanks to Calva Louise for having me out and for the hospitality—can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
